The Soak team visited Salone del Mobile in Milan earlier on this year and were invited to attend one of the glamourous evening events Gessi were putting on during the fair at their Via Manzoni showroom.  We had already seen a fabulous display of Gessi at the fair and were looking forward to seeing the showroom which is set amongst luxury fashion boutiques.  Most of the boutiques in the area had transformed themselves into pop-up showrooms every evening which only added to the whole buzz of the design fair.  One can only imagine what a phantastmagorical experience it must be during Fashion Week.

We walked up to find an old fashioned car decorated with Gessi Eleganza and a number of scooters.

We entered and walked past a waterfall entrance and were welcomed into the Gessi entertaining area with a pianist and drinks and delicious Italian party food.  We had a good look round the very atmospheric showroom with cascading greenery and absorbing the truly luxurious design.

Gessi Eleganza is designed by the Gessi Style Studio and brings a touch of traditional elegance to everyday life.  Who wouldn't want to walk into their bathroom and be greeted with this?



 

Weekend Edit: Bathroom Storage

There is so much to think about when it comes to planning a new bathroom, so make sure you choose carefully so you have a functional bathroom that works for you as well as providing the bathroom storage you require.

Think about:

• what goes inside your bathroom cupboards and drawers
• furniture unit - what size and how many drawers
• mirror or mirror cabinet
• shelving
• washing basket

Deliberating about the insides your bathroom drawers or cupboards (or what goes in them) is not as much fun as choosing the design, colours and style of the bathroom, but careful planning at this stage will give you comprehensive storage options.  Do you want to store tall cleaning bottles?  If you do and you have the space, a tall cupboard is something to consider.  Or perhaps it is make up, brushes and a some medicinal products that need to be out of sight.  Think about a mirror cabinet and a 2 or 4 drawer furniture unit, depending on the space you have.  You can also have shelving in a matching finish for decorative items.

The clocks went back last night marking the end of British Summer Time so it's going to get harder to get yourself out of bed in the morning, and it will be easy to think who wants to go out for a run in the dark as the evenings draw in?

Luxury Designer Bathrooms - introducing Rivoli

Rivoli is an elegant range that has a classical look for those wanting a truly luxurious bathroom.  It was one of the many fabulous displays the Soak in Style team saw when it was introduced at the Milan Design Fair earlier on this year.

Rivoli is seen here in Lino with gold trim with the basin unit featuring a Mystic Brown marble top and Fortuny gold finish basin tap.  The complementing Tall unit is decorated in the same delicate features, with a rectangular mirror decorated with engraved glass and gold trim.  The Rosaline bath has panels in Lino with gold trim and the top in Emperador Light marble.

Rivoli is showcasing the basin unit in Beige with oval mirrors as feature, two sit on white resin basins and Fortuny taps in Gold finish, Emperador Light marble top, oval mirrors with Gold trim, and a complementing Beige tall cupboard also with feature oval mirror.

Another option is a mirror cabinet with LED dimmer lighting which includes a socket for a razor or toothbrush.  You can also add a very effective sound system which works via bluetooth music streaming and is specifically designed for use in a bathroom ensuring a soft and rich, clean sound.

Bisque have been selling designer radiators in the UK since 1979 and in 2014 are celebrating their Coral Anniversary (35 years).  We have created a Pinterest Page in homage of the 1970's compared to current times, and compared bathrooms (of course!) fashion, films, interiors, music and general trends of the 1970's and the 21st Century.
