Kurt Merki jr. has added this distinctive range of furniture to Duravit’s Vero range of ceramics that have been a Duravit bestseller for over 10 years.   The Vero Collection has a choice of finishes from sleek wood including the new Ticino Cherry Tree or the ultimate classic High Gloss White.

Duravit's Vero is a unique Collection and you can select from high quality finishes in High Gloss White, Ticico Cherry Tree, Mediterranean Oak, Dark Brushed Oak and Brushed Walnut for your furniture.

Vero epitomizes a harmonious unity of balanced design and impressive details. Vertical handles that are inset into the fronts create a striking contrast to the classically modern form. Recurring material thicknesses and dimensions define the cubic look that characterises the range.

Duravit Vero Mirror Cabinet + Small White Cabinet

The Vero tall mirror cabinet has double mirrored doors; outside and inside, and no design detail is spares as you can see the handles are lined up to exactly match on the tall and small cabinet.

Another option is a mirror cabinet with LED dimmer lighting which includes a socket for a razor or toothbrush.  You can also add a very effective sound system which works via bluetooth music streaming and is specifically designed for use in a bathroom ensuring a soft and rich, clean sound.

Starck 2. Re-design.
Last year Duravit presented the redesigned Starck 2 range making small modifications that give the series a new and modern style without changing the fundamental design.

Duravit Happy D.2 redefined

Less is more is the new ethos in bathroom sanitaryware.  With this in mind Duravit and Sieger Design have redefined the classic Happy D range and brought it into the twenty first century.  The new Happy D.2 is feminine and chic, and draws on the best from the iconic Happy D range.

Happy D.2 Basin

Happy D.2 basin - note the smooth, slim lines round the sides and edge of the basin.

Duravit Happy D.2 Basin + Furniture

Completely revamped for 2013 it has been 15 years since the launch of Happy D. Happy D.2 combines reassuringly familiar characteristics with a modern and softer look.

A minimalist and light touch is a hallmark of the whole range which includes basins, baths, toilets and complementary furniture.

Happy D.2 is characterised by sweeping symmetrical contours and smooth, delicate lines. The washstands each consist of a generous basin bordered by a significantly trimmed edge. Whilst retaining the characteristic design style, the updated version appears to float.

Minimalism and refinement are the two maxims behind the Happy D.2 range of furniture. The newly tweaked basin unit has been pared down to two wide drawers (see below), reflecting the contours of the basin with soft curves in the front corners.  The space-saving console furniture (see above) comes with an edge height of just 12 mm.  Depending on which basin you choose and which tap configuration, the tap can be positioned traditionally in the middle or to one side.  The furniture has been redefined as well and now features a new “linen” decor finish with a distinctive texture and natural feel.  The range is rounded off with tall cabinets (see below), a height-adjustable chrome console, wall shelves, and mirrors with indirect LED light.  The Happy D.2 in linen is on display in the Soak in Style Showroom.

Alongside the sanitaryware and furniture, the Happy D.2 series includes 13 baths also with a strikingly minimalist edge.  With a generous interior and ease of entry, these baths are designed to be functional. This goes for the back-to-wall version and the free-standing model, which – despite its slimline edge – accommodates the technology of a whirl system.

ISH 2013 Part 2

Final part of our trip to ISH 2013, which by now was somewhat railroaded by heavy snow closing the airport, meaning we were stranded in Frankfurt for the night, with no hotel booked!  After several lengthy phone calls to our airline, much hassle etc we found rooms, but this had curtailed the time spent at the Fair.

Baths by Aquamass

All sort of brightly coloured, fun and funky designs from French company Aquamass.

Flaminia

Funky furniture and designs from Flaminia - we're loving the cookie cutter / quiche dish basins!

Moving onto a busy Dansani stand which stunningly showcased their units including a few prototypes as well as new colours and styles to their existing ranges; Calidris, Curvo, Zaro, Luna and Mido and Special Collection.

Dansani at ISH 2013

Now we come to the Victoria + Albert stand.  A beautifully understated stand that unveiled their new ranges of baths which were just waiting for us to try out, so we did!  We can tell you how comfortable they are, even climbing in and out in winter gear in trepidation of marking them.  With scuffs easily rubbed out being a feature of the Quarrycast© material the baths are made from, our minds were put at ease.

Drayton

the new Drayton re-works the original slipper bath adding modern refinements of a stylish rim, but keeping the comfort of the iconic reclining slipper bath we know and love.

The new Staffordshire Bath Shower Mixer in Chrome enhances any freestanding traditional styled bath.

Victoria and Albert Radford Bath with Staffordshire Bath Mixer

Also new from Victoria and Albert is the opulent double-ended Radford bath also shown here with a Staffordshire Bath Mixer.

The Cabrits bath is contoured to fit the body and offers enhanced support for bathers.   A cosy and comfortable bath that would enhance any bathroom.

Victoria and Albert's Mozzano bath at ISH 2013

The new Mozzano bath - you miss some of the incline on the back in this image which you can see more clearly here ...

Mozzano Bath from Victoria and Albert

A beautifully crafted rimless freestanding bath, with curves and ergonomic design. The 1644mm length makes it ideal for compact bathroom spaces.

Our thoughts on Frankfurt; many of the giants of the bathroom world including Duravit, Bette and Dansani have re-tweaked / re-invented / re-vamped their ranges by slimming them down and making them current for the 21st Century.  Hansgrohe Select combines stylish appearance that is a excellent for ageing customers with stiff fingers but also much less intrusive on the wall for younger clients, winner all round.
