Water is a precious liquid.  We use it for washing, and drinking and is an essential part of life.

Ten things you might not have known about water.

  2. The word "water" derives from the Old High German term 'Wazzar' meaning moistness or that which flows.
  3. For every 130 litres of water consumer per person, per day, 90 litres will disappear down the drain.
  4. By not turning off the tap entirely, you risk wasting up to 45 litres of water in a single day.
  5. Farming consumes nearly two-thirds of the world's water reserves.
  6. German farmers have successfully managed to reduce their water by 70% since 1991.
  7. In developing countries, over 80% of waste water is released untreated back into the environment.
  8. 13 litres of water are required to form a single tomato.
  9. 16,600 litres of water are required to manufacture a single PC.

London's Burning

It didn't seem appropriate to be writing about luxury bathrooms with all that has been going on in London and beyond in the past few days.  So we want to think about the Police and Fire Brigades and all the Emergency Services who have so valiantly been fighting on our behalf to restore law and order in our capital city and elsewhere.

It was heartwarming to read of how communities were coming together to organise Riot Clean-Up and our quote of the week has to be Keep Calm and Carry On.

Back to normal service soon!
